Today, we are thrilled to present an exclusive interview with a Spoken word artist MILES MATUNYA, who has taken his creativity across borders and is currently residing abroad. 1.How has it been, being a Zimbabwean artist abroad

Its been nice, it opens a lot of opportunities, there are more resources here, affordable internet, equipment and networking opportunities.

2. What do you like to do on your free time ?

I like to do a lot of crazy stuff, l write random poems, songs, film scripts, content ideas and stuff, l also listen to music and watch films on Netflix.

3. What made you fall in love with music and poetry?

Brief history: l fell in love with music and poetry when l was 4 years old, l lived with people that were tapped in pop culture and entertainment, my siblings....

They introduced me to Beyonce, Ciara , 50Cents , so l fell in love with Beyonce music 1st en’ Neyo so that’s wen l fell in love with music and poetry ..

4. Who would you want to work with locally and internationally ?

Locally l have worked with everyone l wanted to work with

And now am focusing on the international ones. Internationally, l would like to work with Doja Cat, Sabrina Carpentry ....

5. What is your favorite local fashion brand?

My favorite local fashion brand is SVG street wear, but l also wanna try the HypeX Apparel, it looks cool.

6. Who are your top three favorite artist ?

Without any specific order, l would say Takura, Holy Ten and Jah prayzah

7. Being a Zimbabwean president for 1week, what changes would you make in the entertainment industry?

The 1st the l would do is to avail funds to the upcoming creatives so that they boost their carriers so they get to live their dreams and l would also foster collaborations between local creatives and international organizations and creative companies .

8. How do you feel about the current state of the Zim Hiphop industry ?

I think it is in a good place, considering the fact that there are people Holy Ten, saintfloew, Voltz Jt , bling4 , the ocd crew, Crooger , Sunh, Denim Woods, Bagga, Kayflow, Sane.wav …. They are lots of rappers now in Zimbabwe including females like Young Gemini, lane , kikkybadass, and so on……..so l few like its in a really good place and its very very promising

9. Tell us about your upcoming project

l have an upcoming hip-hop spoken album coming out on the 30th of august 2025, to be available on Spotify, audio mark , YouTube on miles matunya , so the star album is a low fie hiphop spoken word album with a mixture of poetry, hiphop/rap, so l have collaborated with
